ok I think nod32 just had a big burp but I'm gonna check with you guys first
have been running nod32 for a while now, all fine, no issues
all updates are up to date
no dodgy files downloaded/taken from email
I go to re-install EVE-Online so I can run two clients at different res (long story) so I go download the new client from their website, install it, everythings fine then all of a sudden NOD32 tells me that a files got WIN32/Tenga.gen virus
I click clean - it goes away
then I get another, and another, and another, I get ****** off and tell it to stop notifying me and just get on with it.
all of a sudden my system starts acting crap and I have to do a hard reboot
after logging in I realise how wrong things are, style XP isn't working and windows is crying about different system files etc.
turns out NOD32 had quarantined about 95% of my .exe files (everything from calc.exe to supreme commander)
I've restored them now and the system seems to be running ok but every so often I get these messages about WIN32/Tenga.gen virus and would love it to stop!
I've a firewall on my router and the windows one active (just in case) non of my other systems are showing simptoms of this virus/issue.
I'm quite sure that I am NOT infected with anything but seek advice on what to do!
ok maybe I was infected
got NOD32 doing a full system scan and cleaning as it goes
100 or so infected files, but HOW? from what I've read this virus depends upon a patched exploit?
