I've done a search and didn't find anyone else with this issue, but I'm puzzled. I'm running Vista Ultimate x86 with NOD32 (latest v3 build). Every time I tried to use Windows Update after install, I was getting several random and vague errors including something like "The Windows update site may be busy, try again later".

After a few tries I decided to disable NOD32 and voilà! Updates worked flawlessly. Even now with a fully patched SP1 system new updates (eg Defender updates) won't install unless I have NOD32 disabled. This is annoying to say the least! Has anyone else encountered this? NOD is supposed to be Vista compatible (and I've not heard anyone else moaning) so... wtf :(

I completely uninstalled NOD, rebooted, deleted the Eset folder, rebooted, then reinstalled NOD again to no effect. Maybe it's something in the settings?

Yup, the absolute newest v3, fully updated (they're still running v2 as legacy, I'm guessing that's why you asked?). I know of Wilders, thanks :) I was just hoping someone on here might know before I have to go and post outside of OcUK *shudder* ;)

quick question, were you using NOD32 v3 av, or the whole v3 security package? (that has a firewall, which might block WU, i've not used the security version)

ESET's official forums are on wilders, so are Acronis :)

and they both listen to requests.

i'm the one that asked for the right click 'disable protection' link in the taskbar icon for nod32 (when you're running in advanced mode)

Just the AV, not the security suite. Great that they added that feature - that's the one I have to use to get WU working, so yeah.. thanks ;)

hmm I have started to get an error trying to update windows. I can not even update it with NOD disabled.

Its been about 2 weeks since I could update windows according to the last update.
