Hi everyone,

I've splashed out on a copy of NOD32 security centre recently and i'm having problems downloading certain files. When i try to download the DivX package and winamp installers, firefox just freezes when the download completes. Does the same in IE. Turn off NOD32 and it saves with no problems.

Is there a setting I can change to stop being NOD32 being quite so zealous and allow me to download these files?

I'm running XP Pro, latest updates installed.

I don't use NOD32 myself, but I did trial it for a short while some time ago. You could try to turn off scanning downloads and see if it helps. I remember there was a setting or two for this back then, but I don't know how the current versions compare - for one, they didn't have a Security Centre then.

Other than that, perhaps some of the guys over at Wilder's Security Forums are able to help - the official ESET support forums are located there.

I guess you could go to the advanced part of the setup for NOD32 and add the websites which seem to freeze into the excluded group (i.e won't get scanned). You could also de-select the browser from the "Active Mode" list which will mean it will work in Passive mode, but I don't personally think that's good as it means it's less secure.
