Node.JS - Anyone had a play?

Anyone here had a proper play with node.js? I'm using it as a research project for work. It's a fantastic way to provide some 'real time' website updates but I was wondering if anyone has done anything more advanced?

I would like to more on to using it for multipler style game as it looks promising!

We have...I'm not sure of the point of it. It's javascript but on a server...why not use one of the existing languages?

They even wrote their own HTTP server when there are plenty of good, proven HTTP servers available meaning that many deployments stick it behind Nginx :/
