Hello all, just a quick question really:
I have what is now a pretty outdated build:
Asus P5N-E SLI w/ stock E6300
4Gb RAM
2 x 750Gb HDDs, 1 x DVD-RW Drive, 1 x 30GB SSD
ATi Radeon x1950xt
Its barely used for anything more than lots of internet/dl'ing/photoshop anymore, certainly not gaming anymore due to the xbox and ps3 taking over for me, wouldn't think of an upgrade until Star Wars The Old Republic comes out.
Right now i'm just getting too much noise from the machine, housed in an Akasa Eclipse case, Noctua cooler w/ 1 Noctua 12CM fan on the CPU, another set of the Noctuas front and back on intake and exhaust, scythe kama bay in 3 dvd rom slots for summer.
Right now, I know its pretty much overkill, so was thinking of a good way to either get sound down in there, as I think the fans are getting a bit loud with age, or maybe move to a small case for a while, buy a passive cooled low end current gen graphics card (Just needs 2 x dvi out) and head into a smaller, quieter case, leaving the Eclipse spare for a full on upgrade and rebuild next year.
Any advice/solutions on what might prove to be a good, quiet case/prebuilt case that might work well for me? Have just recieved my Windows 7 DVD so thought now might be as good a time as any if moving the entire system around!
