Noise margin

I want to "play" with my noise margin via my router (Netgear 834GT), it is flashed with the GTteam firmware, so the options are there.

Basically I want to get the noise margin as low as possible and hopefully more speed but also to find the limit where the line becomes to unstable.

Do I need to ask BE to do anything on there end or can I start changing now?

Just out of interest, I have a Linksys WRT54GL, and was wondering if any of the open source firmwares supported changing ones Noise Margin...

Open source firmwares being:

Tomato
DD-WRT
FreeWRT
HyperWRT Thibor
Open WRT
Tarifa
X-Wrt

Or any other (OS) firmware that I have missed....

The WRT54GL doesn't have an ADSL modem, so none of them will do anything with your SNR margin.
