YOUR BASKET
1 x Asus HD 7950 DirectCU II TOP V2 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE FARCRY3, Hitman Absolution, Sleeping Dogs & 20% off MOH Warfighter PC Games £259.99
1 x ASUS GeForce GTX 660TI Direct CU II DC2O 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE Borderlands 2 & Assassin's Creed III PC Games £249.95
Total : £521.34 (includes shipping : £9.50).
I'm going to buy one of these cards this week but can't make up my mind which. Looking at Asus specifically because they have the quietest and best performing coolers around.
I know the 7950 will perform better, especially after overclocking but i'm also under the impressions that the 660ti will be sufficient for 1080p gaming and will be a bit quieter. If I overclock, will this raise temperatures enough to make the fan spin louder?
Also the 7950 is a 3 slot cooler, whereas the 660ti is a 2 slot, which means if I ever go crossfire in the future the top 7950 might have limited airflow and run hotter (less overclocking ability?) whereas the 660ti in SLI will have a gap between the two cards.
I hope i'm making sense, and sorry for making another one of these threads but the focus isn't just performance. Noise is a pretty big priority.
Looking to play pretty new and demanding games, like Assassins Creed 3, Borderlands 2, Hitman Absolution, Far Cry 3, Max Payne 3, etc.
