So I bought a http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-005-TL&groupid=962&catid=2141&subcat=2145 for my watercooling build.

Functionally it works fine, however it is noisy as hell. My system would be silent otherwise.

So I have two things I want to do to it.

1) Slightly loosen the 5 screws holding the pump to the pump top. I have a feeling they were done up to tightly by the guys at OCUK, but this could a shot in the dark.

2) Assuming the above does nothing I will look to get a pump controller, as the pump connector doesn't support PWM. Has anyone got any recommendations of what to get, will I get away with using a cheap fan controller?

Do you have any air trapped in it? This will make it ridiculously noisy :) My DDC likes to make the case vibrate a bit if it's attached, but putting it on a foam pad or suspending it will reduce this noise massively.

Don't under the bolts ... you might end up with a pool of liquid in front of your feet! I suspect air trapped somewhere. Start and stop the pump to try push the air through.

I doubt this is an air issue. I've been running this setup for months now, so any air would have bled out by now I assume.

Foam doesn't help either I've found.

I'm talking about very very small adjustments to the bolts.

I use a Lamptron fan contoller to silence my water pump. It has something like 40 watt per channel which is easily enough :)
