So, I expect this is likely a very simple fix but I suspect it'll be like every other trade secret, only easy when you know it.

Last night we slept in our spare room, it's a great room and with the rain lashing against the window it started off relatively calming, but once the rain started to increase and run down the roof into the gutter and then into the open drain below it started to get a little irritating. The gutters themselves work great, no noise from them, no dripping, tapping or anything to that effect but when the rain reaches the bottom of the pipe it feeds directly into an open drain (with a guard on top to stop any debris getting in)and we have a constant dribbling noise, like when you have a pond pump running feeding a water feature, just a constant stream of water noise.

Can I do anything simply to remedy this? I frequently have friends stay over and I prefer a cold room (and most of them do too) so need to have the window open but if you wake up and hear it you can't tune out from it.

Bizarre, maybe.

Cheers!
