I have a Laing D5 Vario Pump. Purchased it Dec 2008 so its about 4 1/2 years old. Yesterday it started making I guess a vibrating sound. I have it installed in an XSPC Bay Resovoir and its making that vibrate a lot (its getting on my nerves).

Is it likely a bearing that has gone? It's still pumping fine. Is it something that can be repaired or should I just get a replacement. I am planning to take it out and reinstall it in the bay res on Wednesday in case that helps.

prices of pumps nowadays best replacing, once you start repairing you never know when the next bit will go your choice tho. 4 1/2 years is a good run

Try adjusting the speed and see if it changes the severity of the vibration. Also try squeezing the back/top together whilst it's running and see if that affects it. My new XSPC is pretty much silent except at setting 3 where it seems to resonate. Doing the above stops the issue.
