Hi guys i have a question regarding noisey raptor harddrives :(

I am trying to make good use of a silverstone case that has been lying around. It is the raptor edition case that has the clear front screen so that you can show off your raptor!

The major flaw in this idea is that the raptor is the noisiest harddrive in the world and when it clicks/seeks or whatever, you can really hear it.
so the other day i went down to overclockers and bought some noisedampening stuff and it has worked a little bit.

Ultimately it is still too loud :(

Has anyone got any other ideas on how i can make this pc quieter? Or how to replace the hdd but leave something nice looking in its place?

thanks for looking!

phil

thanks

You should have gone to general store to buy bitumen mat.
Light nonexistent foam doesn't work against vibrations.

And that drive should be elastically suspended or at the least mounted with rubber grommets instead of metal to metal contacts.

The RaptorX was a noisier than normal raptor anyway. But as said, isolate it from the case. I always bungee modded mine (Even my VR is bungeed).

I loved my raptors, but I'm glad I've sold them now, they were way too noisy even in a soundreducing waterblock

Is there some sort of small tft you can mount inside the case instead?

As EsaT said above - elastic suspension works well, that what I used with mine.
but to really get the noise level down you need an enclosure (that is then suspended)
The all copper gup is very nice

Failing that ditch the raptorX - as it was designed for speed not quiet
