Noisy side fan

Ok so I've overclocked my Q6600 a little, so cooling is now becoming quite a factor! I have the Freezer Pro 7 sitting on my CPU, and a great "silent" exhaust fan in a direct line with it. Together they keep my idle Temp to 34, and my Load temp to a very maximum of 50. However, if I turn on my IN fan (which is mounted on the side of the case, in the centre of a clear perspex window) the temperature drops to 31 idle, and 46 load. This is pretty good, but for some reason this fan (the same make as my exhaust fan) is 10 or 20 times louder than the rest of the case combined.

Its bearable; only just audible over a game, but the rest of my case is sooo quiet that it does make a difference. Any advice? Should I ditch the fan? Somehow make the window vibrate less?

The fan was an 'Extra Value 80mm Blue LED Case Fan" from a competitor of OCuK. The one on the back of the case though is absolutely silent, and this one was when it was in that position as well.

Heh, thought as much. "They" don't even stock it any more but I'll take it off anyway. This is the case:

I've tried the fan that came with it (different make) and that was silent in any other position apart from in the centre of the window as well. I'm fairly sure its just because the persplex vibrates, but I don't know how to stop that, or if I should use a different window material. Are other case sides likely to fit?

Fair suggestion - just reached the near-conclusion of that myself. The case cost £24 (including free next day delivery that probably accounted for £15 of that price), and although very pretty (IMO), definitely could be better. Can anyone recommend some good cases; I'd really like one with a window. Nice and flashy, but preferably under £40.

Why not try mounting the fan with these? They are supposed to reduce vibrations. I've used a few myself and the difference is probably a bit subjective, but if its the vibrating of the side panel thats the problem it might sort it for a lot less than the cost of a new case.

Throw the fan in the bin, problem solved.
And use that bling pong case as that bin.

Considering price and look it's no wonder if slightest hint of vibration turns it into loudspeaker.
Also already weak exhaust capacity is further restricted heating PSU.

Thank you for the suggestion, I think I'll try these first before getting a new case as they're only £4 and I do like the look of my case. Also the plastic window is only held to the side of the case by a eight screws, leaving a considerably gap. I'm going to try and hot-glue that as well, and if that fails then I'll get saving for a proper case.
