just got a lian li v-1100 plus and went from a p190 to the lian li.

put everything in yesterday and i must say it is louder than my p190 !

there is a huge vibration coming from the case and havent a clue what is making it vibrate.

i have 3 fans in the case...2 are sharkoon fans and one is a exhaust blower which came with the case (very quiet to be honest)

also got a h50 installed and a corsair 620 psu.

any ideas please and what i can do to get rid of this noise !

wish i kept the p190 now.

ive sorted it now.

it was my 1 hard drive.

the racks in this lian li are crap, they slide into a ali frame with plastic rails but the rack is screwed onto the case causing the whole case to vibrate.

ive put some foam pads on the bottom of the rack and that has stopped it for now.

That's why I put every plastic based easy to use/toolless HDD systems to acoustically bad category.

im going back to my p190 now as this lian li case is terrible.

i have never had a case which vibrates so much.

my p190 is awsome for cooling and being fairly quiet.

just wanted a smaller case with less fans and noise but this case is not for me.

You might want to check that hard drive as well, vibration normally means that the bearings are worn and not running true.

Most Lian Li cases (mine included) are virtually silent because they have rubber mounted components (fans, hard drives, PSU's). I can't understand why that one doesn't, unless it is an older model.

I've never enjoyed using Lian Li's, they are just not the sort of cases I like.

I much prefer Antec, Coolermaster or the new Corsair range.

i dont think i will ever get rid of my p190 now.

it is superb for many reasons and that is a must for me.

superb cooling....loads of space.....quality fitting's.....looks nice.

V1x00 and V2x00 are old models. Also those with overhyped hot swap gimmicks use exactly same noisy mounting.

As rule any case ads about hot swap, toolless or others fast and easy HDD mounting should ring the alarm for taking close inspection of those because most of the time it means directly noisy mounting.

I'm sure your new case is not as bad as the antec 1200 I have. it's only bearable with the 2 rear fans on med and the rest on low. Any higher and the noise becomes very irritating. I'm thinking about putting the PC on the floor so its a bit further away

This is one of my favourite things about my A70F, particularly the hard drive mountings.

No vibrations whatsoever.
