nokia 8800

been using mine since i got it back in sept, it look flash but specs wise it aint all that, camera's poor and raptors right, its just a 6230i in a flash case and a unjustified pricetag

It's not even as good as the 6230i for most things imo :/
Camera's much lower quality on it and no expandable memory or radio on it.

It just looks pretty for an overinflated price. Hell of a lot better phones out there for the money.

Agreed the specs arent amazing, but thats not what the phone was designed phone. I've had one for a good while now and still love it, compared to your average phone design wise it blows it away.

The 8 series has always been style over substance, purely because there is a huge market for it.

has a radio though. Most people seem to over look the concurrent BT connection support too! Basically it can connect and work with more then 1 BT device together properly. So you can transfer files, take a call on your headset all together too! Support stereo music by BT, although that seems alittle pointless.

I've had one since July and its been great, could do with expandable memory and a better camera.

I did have a 6680 before this, but this is exclusive and I haven't met many people who have these at all!

Yeah not that exclusive anymore, they're giving them free on contract now. But I have to agree that the 8 series has always been style over substance and I think all of the 8 series phones have been stunning!

Yep its only exclusive because its expensive and looks good. I had both 8850 and 8890 and loved them both. I just cant bring my self to pay £500 for a phone again. If they bring out a UMTS enabled one I may think about it.

I've still got an old 8850 just sitting in my draw. At the time they tended to have the same features as other phones but in a nicer package. But these days other phones seem to be far more feature packed that the 88** series can't keep up whilst maintaining the looks. I'd not want to give up the features for style now.

Not really. It's exclusive because Nokia deliberately limit supply of the handset, which also serves to make it expensive as long as demand keeps outstripping supply.

It's not expensive to produce in the slightest.

I really can't see the appeal, but hey.

It should cost more to make. Stainless steel, sapphire coated screen, not to mention the desktop charger and 2nd battery should make it actually more expensive to produce then most phones. Not hugely so, but more then plastic. Componant costs on most handsets these days are pitfully low, its the development/marketing costs they need to recoup.
