... i can still answer calls!?

My friend was moaning about this at the weekend as he accidentally answered a call to his girl friend while his phone was locked and in his pocket, and said quite a few things about her that he shouldn't have

I'd noticed this happening on my nokia and am sure that on older nokia phones, when your phone was locked and you got a call you would have to unlock it first.

Is there a setting somewhere on the phone to fix this? Not sure what my friends phone is but mines a 6070.

Cheers

IIRC, keypad locks just prevent you dialing other people or going into your menus

Answering a call should always not need a keylock

Imagine that - you get a call, and have to unlock it? That seems silly.
Ever since the 5510s, it's been one button answering

The 3210 was one button answering. Having to unlock and then answer would be so much hassle you'd be wanting it back the other way by the end of the day.

Surely the answer here is to not walk around saying awful things about your girlfriend. If he really feels the need to be cussing his girlfriend behind her back all the time, would it not be easier still to just find a new girlfriend?

He wasn't really cussing her, he was just telling me why he was moving in with her (they live about an hour and a half drive from each other)... and that she wasn't the reason he was doing so.... money's the reason lol
She didn't like that :p

Wouldn't it be nice for the phone to give you the option, i like options.... options make the would go round ;)

Exactly, if they can unlock a phone by the sound of "Hello" the better. Who would want to press menu * and then Answer button to answer a call?

Back in my supermarket working days aged 17, i remember working in the chilled room

my mobile phone started ring
it was the police

apparently I had dialed 999 in my pocket (which bypasses the keypad lock), and the police had listened to me and a mate singing away happily at 6am for about 15 mins, before ringing us back.

Also told me to give up singing.

They must get a dozen calls a day like that easy with everyone having a mobiles.

112 does the same too.

Does this mean that if your phone starts ringing and you don't notice it, then someone walks past you and answers their phone, they answer your phone as well.....isn't technology wonderful

I would personally like the 'option' to have a Keypad Lock option which does exactly that! Not a 'Partial Keypad Lock' option

Just tried that 999 things, ok so thats totally acceptable ;)
