Look out for these cards.

What's not to ask about MMCmobile??

I'm looking to get a 1gb card for an N70 and the choice is as you've mentioned.

MMCMobile is one of those pointless formats thats all.

Basically, its like Dual Voltage RSMMC card, but supports faster speeds. No device I think at present uses this new format, so its pointless. But it is backwards compatible. With Nokia (and everyone else) now ditching the MMC line and moving to Transflash/MicroSD, there is no point in buying an MMCMobile card.

If you are just using eBay, search for "N70 MMC" - that way you will find the ones that are compatible.

I bought a Kingston 1 GB card last night for £18.99 including delivery :)

yeah, "the auction site" is a good place for memory.

I just got a 512mb rs dv mmc for my E60 £9.99 including delivery. Went to a shop down town and there in there for £39.99 :D

And Ive just found out that many people have problems with the N70 and Kingston cards - and guess what I have just bought. If you read some N70 forums, it is recommended you buy another brand. The odd few however, have had no problems with it - hopefully I will be one of them :)

Well pointless or not, it's the only memory card that will work in the N70.

I had been looking at the Kingston 1gb MMC cards (a few quid cheaper than most of the others) but will probably avoid them now.

Yeah, thats probably a good idea. When both phone and card arrive and I will test it out and let you know. I read somewhere that most often with the Kingston cards video playback from them may skip a bit, and also if you set that as the default location for files etc, it may revert back to phone memory by itself.

If I can find the thread again on the other forum, I will link to it :)

Will have a look at them when I am back from work (over zealous filter).

I'm also going to see if our local CPW will upgrade the firmware to v5 and call T-Mobile to find out about unlocking it.

One of my mates has the whole Nokia servicing kit so he will install the latest generic firmware for me :)

CPW said to come in next Tuesday to get it flashed (free under warranty) and I've paid £15 for T-Mobile to send an unlock code.

Since I am buying the phone off eBay and although its new, its far easier to pop down to my mates house a couple of minutes walk away and get it done there - faster and friendlier service :p

eeeeewwwwwwwww ebay :(

My mate was trying to get rid of his via another friend on ebay. Nothing but dumb scammers trying to get it.

Only reason we have an N70 is because my father switched contract and got the N70 at the time.

Yeah, selling things can be really annoying, but if you specify to post to UK only, and cancel all bidders who have less than 5 feedback (recent ones), its not too bad. As far as buying is concerned, again I tend to look for people with more than 50 feedback (recent ones too).
