Nokia N73 or SE K800

On paper, this should be the first Nokia than can go toe-to-toe with SE on the camera front. The fact that it's a smartphone possibly gives it the edge too (especially with built-in flickr support).

We'll have to wait until they're both released to know which is best though.

SE K800i purely because I don't like the N73 (or any of the Nokia smartphones), I see enough of the Nokias at work

Nokia N73

Pros:

*Larger screen
*Stereo speakers
*Smartphone
*Slightly smaller overall
*Video in CIF rather than QCIF

SE K800

Pros:

*Faster UI
*Xeon flash

i suppose you can also get the satnav, eventually, for it so that woudl be another bonus for N73

nice one k800i free on a thirty quid a month package.... tempting.
now i have to decide between that and a spvm600...

Hmm interesting, dont forget the biggest con of nokia smartphones is how dog slow they run especially the series60 phones...utter crap if you ask me and yes ive owned 2, one i still own the 6680...still crap even after a firmware flash and other n80 which i sent back after almost smashing it to pieces:p

Thats the problem with the new Nokias - why have they not sorted this out??? They are so slow! It used to be SE that had that problem -now its Nokia a real disappointment, just dont understand it.

ps the k800i looks fugly.

It's only Series 60 Nokias that are slow since it is a fully blown operating system. Just exactly the same as Windows Mobile 5 is slow on phones that run that OS. The only way to solve this would be to stick faster processors and more RAM into the phones. But then people would complain that the battery life is awful

I, personally, am not too fussed about battery life as i had a nokia 6600 before my k750i and all i did was get a desktop stand which charged the phone and spare battery so it was never an issue. you can never have enough batteries though - at least thats what the mrs says  !

Played with it today and it just doesn't feel nice.

The joystick has got worse :( lol

Andy

How bad is the joystick then?

I've been offered free upgrade to the K800 if I ring back to o2 on monday morning when they should have stock...

Just feels flimsy to me.

My suggestion would be to get it and see what you think of it as you have 14 days anyway :)

Thanks mate. I'll give it a go then and see what I think. Just got to wait till monday, or maybe tuesday, to get it ordered.
