All over the world...
Just a heads up but looking at the website that i usually get my sim free phones from, the nokia n91 is looking to be released on or about the 28th April.

Cant mention the online store as its a competitor but a bit of googling should help a bit ;).

n91 due on Vodafone on the 26th of this month, gonna be an expensive handset, similar pricing to the N80, its also meant to be slightly limited I was told.

Any word on price?

According to the website i was looking at, their pre-order price is still £600-ish...but im sure that will be adjusted. Saw on another site that its selling for £500 which seems a bit more fair. Expensive handset and quite big/bulky for what it is.

Im still waiting for the N80 to get a date for release whenever that will be lol.

My mate bought one of these off a forum 6 months ago, and im sure there was a picture of the phone in some blokes hand... he must have got it off nokia, or from overseas where they release them earlier but I cant belive this phone STILL hasnt come out, wasnt it meant to be out last year? Not even at the end of last year

It would have been good then, now, Im feeling it may be a little too big, now that a lot of people have seen the tiny 4gb nanos and there going down in price too

It was originally supposed to be released at the back-end of last year, so there's been about a 4 month delay.

The nano might be smaller, but the N91 does have the advantage of WiFi, stereo headset bluetooth, a 2MP camera, web-browser, WMA playback, etc.

It's only real competitor on the market right now is the Samsung i300 - a phone with absolutely terrible battery, no WiFi, no 3G and a worse camera. The N91 is still a pretty advanced phone, even after all the delays.

Personally, I'd rather have the Sony Ericsson W950i, but it isn't due until Q3.

that samsung is officially useless ;)

The sony one is goin to be a competitor, but it looks a lot smaller and nicer! so if it slips any more there going to have tourble selling them when people are going to want them

also MS duos are really cheap now... my mate got 2gb for 32inc, slap that in a W800i and theres no need for a N91 ;)

Even with a 2GB card, the W800i still has half the memory of the N91. And no WiFi, no A2DP support, no 3G, no support for music subscription services like Napster and isn't a smartphone. ;)

The 4GB HDD is certainly the headline feature of the N91, but it's not a one-trick pony.

be interesting to see when this appears on o2, as I think i'm going to have to settle for whichever of the p990, n80 and n91 appear first as my p910i is basically dead now. Just hope it survives the next couple of weeks or so.

I just hope the battery life is pretty decent, as i've grown used to getting 3 or 4 days normal usage out of my p910 between charges.

for all the people who are gonna buy this sim free... what do you do about insurance ?

Was thinking of an N80 - after selling the phone I get with FlexT... but would need something for a £4-500 phone !

(sorry to jump in...)

There is a site selling the n91 on o2 now. Was in o2 store today and they say they will have the n91 by the end of the month.

But its the size of a small horse :p

Ok, its specs are good, but its beefy! (Or it looks like it in the pics Ive seen) - I've no problem with a big phone, I've had a few myself but people always call you mr housebrick, etc.

Im not disputing its more than a 1 trick pony, but the Music player is its main feature, the camera, another main feature is the same as the w800i and if you could get a 4GB MS Duo... although it lacks the smartphone features, it would be half the price and have the 2 main same 'flagship' features of it, and be tiny in comparison - depite it being better tech, small always sells :(

4Gb MSDuo's are on the way aparentely.

I think it boils down to what you use your phone for.
I personally couldnt justify a N91, yes its a nice phone, yes it has impressive features, but at the end of the day, its aimed at people who want powerful PDA functionality without having a seperate device of a PDA. I dont have enough 'on' to need PDA functionality. And im sure its similar for other people. Some want their phone as just that, a phone. Others will want it to do PDA stuff as well, and thats what the N91 brings.

Any info on that?
Because ive read that the 4Gb memory of the W950 are just normal flash chips, like what the Nanos use. It doesnt have a memory slot on it.

no as in, it will be the same tech, so there will be 4gb MS available, but will be using that funny memory stick type in the phone...internally, so yeah flash mem, but mega small.

...well thats what i could make out from what the Sony Rep was saying lol!

That doesnt make sence having the actual MSProDuo card internal to the device and having no external ports for it.
Its highly probably that it'll be just normal flash memory, attached directly to the phones main board.

lol yeah thats what I thought, but thats what the rep said O_o

Maybe he meant the chip from the M2 memory stick, as I think that would be much smaller than the flash memory you find in an ipod.
