Nokia PC Suite + Using a Nokia N70 as a modem

Hey all,

Having trouble getting my Nokia N70 to work as a modem. I've got the data cable, I've downloaded the cable driver and now apparently I need Nokia PC Suite.

I've now downloaded this a total of three times, and every single time it fails saying the data1.cab is currupt. This is very annoying as each time it takes an hour to download, I'm stuck on 56k until I get this working.

Any ideas, or any ideas on how to use the N70 as a Modem without the use of PC Suite?

I'm guessing you don't have the disc that came with your phone handy? PC Suite is on that.

I've got an N70 if you need a copy of the CD that came supplied with the phone.

i downloaded the pc suite software last night and the download was fine, have you tried downloading it from somewhere else? or could it be a problem your end? and i dont think its possible to use it as a modem without the pc suite.

Finally got it downloaded and installed.

Next hurldle...

Getting the phone to connect. I'm using the USB cable but it's... very hit and miss. Sometimes it detects the phone but more often than not, it doesnt. Any ideas?

I had the same problem - turned out the USB cable was knackered.

My cable can be a bit hit and miss too :/ I just stick to BT now but I'm assuming you haven't got that available on your comp?
