Nominate an Underboss

Doesn't an underboss just enforce the rules? Doesn't sound like a particularly great job. I think people have got it confused with MoH.

As for Simulatorman. LOL. What does he actually contribute? He just says his one liners, and RSS's a lot of stuff. It's like a really boring twitter feed.

Isn't Simulatorman the one that is always giving us up to date 'space' information? that's pretty important I feel helps adds some perspective to the forum.

Anyway, I agree that it seems some are confusing this with MOH, this a 'job' to help keep the forums in check rather than a popularity contest, some 'good' members are being mentioned but I'm not even sure they would want the job or the responsibility, I'm sure there is some diligent lessor known individual in a sub-forum that would suit the position best.

One of the things I think odd about users choosing some names, is that it seems like a popularity contest and the quality and quantity of a persons post count doesn't seem like a good metric on how good a person will be at enforcing the rules, keeping order, making tea etc... I don't doubt that some of the names put forward would make a great underboss if they are willing and chosen for the role, but I just think that these sort of thread shouldn't carry much weight.

They don't.

Neil79, does a very good job (thankless you could say) on keeping us all updated on the indie/retro scene on the pc section, mods are under represented from this area of the forum.

But are they underrepresented in that area because there is no need for them? We haven't got a dedicated Don in La Cuisine because there isn't the need for them. It's a more mature place than GD. ;)

This.

We're being tricked into a false sense of having an influence upon the end result to stop us complaining. Oh and no doubt to stop the inevitable 'who' questions.

And anbody who has never been suspended? Should trim the candidate list a bit.

It really isn't a very good yard stick though. "Behavior" and awareness of the rules yes, but being suspended and being unsuitable don't go hand in hand.
