So my black switch mechanical keyboard developed a fault so I sent it back and I'm awaiting my refund.

Now the thing is I'm using a Razer Anansi non mechanical keyboard I borrowed from a friend and I cannot for the life of me tell the difference between this and a mechanical keyboard with black switches in game or otherwise.

Would I be better off sticking to a good membrane style keyboard if I really cant tell the difference ?

I suppose the only benefit of getting one if you don't notice a difference is the life time. Mechanical will outlast a standard keyboard.

If you honestly can't tell the difference, more power to you. Enjoy a cheaper and wider selection of keyboards!

I bought a mechanical keyboard this week and can tell the difference as, to me, its huge. Not used to the mechanical yet as it still feels weird but I'm getting more comfortable with it all the time.

You can press more keys on a mechanical, thats all I know for sure. I can span my keyboard with one hand, I dont like the bigger is better type style.
Go with whatever suits you

For black switch, it is indeed quite hard to tell the difference to a non-mechanical one.

Maybe if you try out blue switch, then you will know where the difference is :D

I went from using a kb with scissor switches, back to my rubber membrane kb and if felt horrible. I'm hoping that mechanical will be even better than the scissor switches.
