Non QVL Ram

At the risk of offending, which is certainly not my intention, I sometimes see recommendations for Ram for a particular Motherboard which I can't find on the Motherboard manufacturer's QVL.

It may be down to my simply not being able to find the relevant entry in the QVL, or is it the case that from personal experience, or that of others, the Ram is known to work with that motherboard or type of motherboard.

Manufacturers don't test every make of ram available on the market and ram is fairly standard and very minimal to find ram that won't work on a particular board.

as said, QVL only means that RAM it's 100% tested, it doesn't mean that other RAM won't work.
