My trusty Razer DeathAdder left-handed edition has just given up the ghost, just after installing the software for a Logitech steering wheel. Looks like the software might have corrupted the mouse firmware.

It's possibly still in warranty - Razer quote 2 years, but I'm not sure of the warranty procedure, but in any case I desperately need a replacement gaming mouse, and I'm not sure I want to go for a Razer again if a software install can break it.

Any recommendations for a high sensitivity amdidextrous mouse that has more than the standard 3 buttons?

Contact the retailer by phone and ask them if it's still in warranty. They should be able to deal with it for you.

If you really don't want to keep it, you can sell on the replacement and fund something else.

Thanks!
The retailer says it's out of warranty, as it's over a year, so I've contacted Razer direct about warranty support. I'm buying a Steel Series Sensai and if the deathadder is eventually replaced I'll have a backup.

Razer wired mice have a 2 year warranty. This should be honoured by the retailer, not Razer as I believe they only offer that service on mice bought directly from their online store.

Either way, if the product was sold to you new, you have a 2 year warranty and it's always ultimately the retailer's responsibility to honour it.

If the retailer is an idiot about it ask to speak to a manager and look up sales of good act 1979 - a product must work for a reasonable amount of time, in your professional opinion that is 3 years as you can get mice for £5 with a one year warranty...

Thanks for all the feedback!

The retailer has admitted there was a mistake in their RMA process, so everything is fine. I've bought a Steel-Series Sensei as a replacement while I wait for the RMA process to proceed because I can't go without a decent gaming mouse. I'll probably sell the DeathAdder if they replace it.
