How much of an issue is it putting a non-reference GTX 580 in the FT02 with the GPU expelling its heat into the case as opposed to out the top of the case?

I was thinking about either the MSI GeForce GTX 580 Lightning 1536MB or the Asus GeForce GTX 580 Matrix 1536MB.

Should I get the EVGA GeForce GTX 580 SuperClocked 1536MB as it has the reference GTX 580 cooler and might be more suited for this case?

Thanks.

All them cards will work in the case ive got the MSI GTX 580 Lightning Xtreme Edition and it`s going in the Silverstone Raven 2 RV02W-EW i asked the same question today and a few of the lads on here have told me it will run fine with no problems.

This is an amazing thread to stumble upon...

I have a few questions for you if you don't mind :p

1 - Did you have to remove the fan grills to fit the card in with it been 305mm long?

2 - would the case handle 2 of these cards?

3 - What temps is the card running at?

4 - What have you managed to overclock it too?

5 - Any chance of a pic of it in the case please?

I'm thinking about this set up (but with 2 lightnings) and this will help greatly with my research :)

Thanks :-)

1/ No fits fine took my card out of the box and it came in just under 300mm

2/ Yes

3/Not installed it yet as im waiting on my motherboard

Dont think its worth doing a build log as it`s just normal pc part`s being put in a case :)

answering some of Adams query.

I was worried about this as well, but in the end it had fit with around 5cm to spare. I have a reference card though so not sure if yours is a tad longer  (ok that came out wrong. hehe )

2 - would the case handle 2 of these cards?

I was told by a friend that the reference cards could be a little better suited as they are smaller. I would defintely cehck with measurements.

One thing to note it a tight fit as it is. With 2 of them monster cards it could create a lot of hot air. However I am confident the FT02/RV02 should help with the 140MM ap blasting air up.

Hope that helps
