Hey guys,

I'm overclocking my HD5850 AVP and managed to find a program for voltage control (Sapphire Trixx) but i'm hitting a wall quite early.

Testing with kombastor benchmark

Stock 725/1000 @ 1.088v 6278 points
OC to 850/1100 @ 1.180v 6623 points
OC to 850/1150 @ 1.280v 7094 points (voltage is too high but can't manage at lower)
OC to 1000/1125 @ 1.275v 6816 points

Memory: anything over 1150 gets unstable and crashes. why?
many here suggested 1.275v for 1000/1250 and i can't even get 1200 (for 5870 clocks) because it will crash after some 25sec of kombastor.

Thanks for your help :)

I wouldn't worry too much about what others can achieve. Different cards will have different headrooms and the XFX cards are generally not as good as the reference cards.

Only you can test what voltage will work (all cards will vary). The ASUS I had only managed 950MHz on the core at 1.3V so try that voltage and test how stable it is and how hot.

Voltage is going to vary. Mine for example only needs 1.165v for 900/1200 and 1.2v for 1000/1250. It's just a case of trial and error. Keep an eye on temps as well.
