non responsive ctrl key apex 7 keyboard

my left ctrl key has been unresponsive and getting dodgy for a while, till it finally screwed up, was due to liquid spillage like a beer or cider too many :P


any ideas how to sort it, i would hate to have to buy another keyboard just for one key, i have tried putting ipa into the switch with the key cap off and a make up brush with some bristles into the switch with the ipa doesnt seem to work but its got power as the led works, just does nothing when i press it.

any ideas?
 
Can you use a soldering iron? (Apex 7 is soldered, yes?)

Could try removing the switch and take it apart and clean and lube it properly.

If that does not work, swap it with a switch you hardly ever use, in my case it would be the Home Key as i have never used it.
