Wondered if anyone could help me with some basic css/html issues..

I have updated a site with differing background and header, however only certain parts are updating? I just dont get it! Is there a way to force browsers to recache (in the code?).

This site has updated fine:
http://voices.mtv.it/

However this not..
http://voices.mtv.co.uk

Can anyone help!? (or maybe explain!)
Thanks:)

I'm not sure if you're being serious or not. You do web dev for MTV, but you're asking why two websites on two different domains won't update when you only apply the update to one of them?

He is saying that he has applied updates to two sites, on the .it site the updates are working as intended, on the .co.uk, part of the page is not refreshing, part of it is.

Ctrl-F5 forces the browser to refresh without using any cached items. If that doesn't fix the issue, can I suggest you take a screenshot and highlight the bits that are not refreshing, otherwise its tough to figure out what has not updated correctly.

If both of the sites are supposed to be the same personally I'd just put a redirect on one of them and then you only have to keep one updated.

Wasnt the best explained but Linkex is right (Tripnologist - slightly unfriendly response!), it was an Akamai issue, (the changes werent reflected even looking at the site via mobile/cleared cache/different computers).

Sorry mate. Lots of trolls around here (though usually in GD) and with the way you had described it, I wasn't sure if you were being serious or not.
In hindsight, I probably should have kept my mouth (fingers?!) shut.

I would point out that the reason i knew what he meant is that i looked at the two sites - they are both completly different, not to mention different languages. This made it obvious what he meant. the explanation may not have been as clear as it could have been, but a glance at the links he provided cleared up any doubt.

Still, it is pertinent info that is missing from the OP that could have been included.

It's like me saying my SQL DB is not updating but not mentioning it gets pushed data from somewhere else using log shipping.

Different languages? They are both running Wordpress.. edit: Ah, literally languages..

Still, I don't think Trips response was out of place. If I looked at the problem and saw that a webdev for MTV can't figure out that their WP site has some sort of caching or CDN that isn't clearing then I'd be suspicious too. No offence to Christo.

Regarding Trips comments, he has apologised, so I have no interest in criticizing him for them.
