nonphotographyday

The man makes a good point. We go to air shows, firework shows (thanks to remote shutter I can happily watch the show), weddings, gigs, all kinds of events and watch them through this tiny little view finder. I guess it makes sense to take a day off and see the world as it is.

Considering that the 17th is departures day at the Royal International Air Tattoo then I doubt I'll be putting the camera down, not after having paid £160 for the privilege of being there.

lol rightly so. I spent from bein a baby till 21 not looking through a camera. So I think I need to look though it more if anything! :P

I don't spend enough time looking through a lens!!, So I will aim to grab my camera that day heh! :D

Although I would like to goto a Wedding at some point and relax and enjoy it rather than peer at it through a view finder! Saying that, I would probably still take my camera and bug the professional heh! :p

I'll prob still take my camera out with me cos the 17th could be the day that i take the shot that makes me famous. lol

I can understand what this photographer is trying to do as sometimes I feel detached looking through view finder and wish at times that I could just leave the camera at home.

i would never take a camera to a concert, gig or public function - these are highyl unoriginal venues, aside from the point that you should actually be watching these events as opposed to filming them...as for Air Shows or venues where bikes/cars go round in circles - these types of photo should go in the motorsport forum where they belong.

I personally get my kicks out of taking a camera out when i'm around town, and when i can take a lucky shot that works out to be a decent image, like the East End series. Totally unplanned is best IMHO :)

While I agree with the last bit, totally unplanned shots are good, I have to strongly disagree with the first. I love shooting gigs. I've seen plenty of original totally unplanned shots. You never know what'll happen at a gig. We don't have a motor sport forum. We have motors and sports and neither are really fitting.
