noob 360 and mp3 question

Okay I want to get my mp3's on to my 360 how can I do this ?

I take it I cant just burn a load to a dvd+r ?

Can I use an ethernet cable ? do I have to convert to wma ?

Burn them as Audio CDs, then the 360 can be used to rip them to the HDD (Not sure what format the 360 stores the music as, mp3/wma but your music will be on the HDD either way).

What do you want to do with the mp3s? If you want to just stream music while you play you can either stream from your PC or just stick your mp3 player in via usb.
 
Thanks, no I just wanted them on the xbox 360 hard drive so I can use for custom soundtracks.

You can still do that with streaming (I think? I recall being able to select music from my PC in certain games, not just play 'over the top'), and would mean less faffing around if you get the network sorted.
 
Correct, you can use music stored on your PC and streamed to the 360 as custom soundtracks.
 
Or, as I do, I use one of those micro sized USB 2Gb stick, put all my MP3's on it, and leave it plugged in to the front USB socket on the 360... then access them from there in-game soundtracks...
