In the hypothetical future where I can actually afford a decent PC, I was planning to get the 1.86 Allendale. Is the cooler that comes with it adequate? Or should I invest in a separate one?

(assuming I don't overclock)

In the hypothetical future, you will probably be able to afford something more for the same price! You can always get more PC stuff, for the same money in the future, so I think you are a jammy git!

In answer to your question, you should have no problem! But, it may be noisy............

.....I'll go to bed!

if i was you i would go for the OEM e6300 (1.86) and buy an aftermarket cooler such as the Arctic Cooling freezer 7 Pro.

1. it will give lower temps than the stock intel one
2. it will be quieter than the stock intel cooler
3. if you do decide to overclock you wont need to buy another cooler down the line

see my sig for specs and temps, overclocked btw ;)
