im after a digital camera,im new to cameras so im not sure what one to get :p

ive got a budget of around £200 .
ive been looking at this camera

Olympus µ Mju 700 7.1 Megapixel

all i need is just a simple camera to start me off can anyone here recommend me a good one?

Would opt for optical zoom over 7.1 mp. Ignore digital zoom. Unless youre gonna be printing out huge images then imo 4mp is plenty.
Depends what you want the camera to do. Is portability more important than zoom? What size photos do you want to print?

i doubt id use the camera on 7.1 mp anyway, this one has 3x Optical Zoom .
i dont really mind on the size of the camera it just looks like a good "all rounder" for the money.

I've just got a Canon A610 from a well known e-tailer for about £160 or something. It's a good camera. 5MP, 4x optical zoom, lots of features. Can go all the way from full auto to full manual. Gets good reviews.

I have a Konica Minolta Dimage Z2 which is 4 mp and 10x optical zoom and its perfect for my needs.
Can get the Z3 for £190 - 4 mp and 12 optical or the Z10 for £125 3.2 mp and 8 optical.

Best thing to do would b to go to a camera shop and try some out.

ive just had a look at the Canon A610 , seems quite impressive for the money.

might be worth going down to a camera shop, but are the cameras more expensive in there?

Yes, by a fair way. It's worth going in to get a look at them, and have a hold of them, but if you're looking to save money then online is the way to go.

For the record, I saw the A610 for about £270 on the high street. Like I say, I got it for £165 online.
