I'm very gradually building my first pc and it only occurred to me at the last minute to add a drain port but i wasn't sure how to go about doing it, so i googled a bit and found this picture.

This looks like a neat solution to me but will that stopcock/valve be strong enough to prevent leakage while the loop is running?

Just need remove the barb from the end and fit a stop plug instead, then when you want to drain the loop take the plug out, fit a barb, add some pipe and turn the tap on, jobs a good'un :)

Yes mate, the stop plug is purely as a fail safe in case the tap leaks or is accidentally knocked open when you're working in the case, so with the tap off just need to switch the plug for a barb & tube when it's time to drain the loop :)

Fitting mine tonight.

Three way T terminal + male to male adapter + ball valve tap + stopper

Then switch stopper for barb when I need to drain
