Can somebody please tell me all the cables that i will need to put together a new computer, i mainly work with laptops so dont really have a clue about desktops

how many ide/sata drives for example..floppy drive ?

All the cables you require will be supplied with your motherboard, eg sata cables for hard disks, ide if using an ide dvd drive. The rest of the cables to run the various components will be on your power supply.

Most if not all of the cables you will require usually come with the motherboard such as sata, IDE and floppy drive cables. ^ beaten to it

Yup got it in one.! you wont have to actually buy any,they will come supplied with the vairous components.

Unless you're putting in a stupid amount of drives, you'll have all the necessary cables with your motherboard like you said. Once you have chosen all the hardware you're going to buy, check the motherboard info on the manufacturers website to make sure it comes with enough depending on what you're getting, and any more you need should be found here: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=701&catid=48
