Hi,
I bought the following system from OC 1.5 years ago :

"Titan Exodus" Intel Core i5 760 2.80GHz @ 3.80GHz Quad Core DDR3 System"

This came with 4GB ram (2 sticks).

Im looking to upgrade to 8GB - can someone suggest a 4gb kit from this site that I would be safe buying ?

Sorry Ive not upgraded a PC in such a long time Im not sure if there are any pitfalls or compatability / performance issues that Im not aware of.

Thanks !

just to let you know the overclock you have on your cpu might not work after filling all of the ram slots. but pretty much any ram will be ok as long as it is the same speed as what you already have, open cpu-z and have a look at the memory part, then look at the dram frequency see what it says and then double it and that will give you the speed of your ram as its in dual chanel

You double the speed shown in CPU-Z because the RAM is Double Data Rate not because it's dual channel.

OP you need to provide the speed (doubled) and timings shown on the memory tab in CPU-Z and also if you click on the SPD tab and provide the part number.

With this information we can hopefully find some RAM to match what you have now.

Cheers for the reply - this is exactly the reason why I posted !

Performance wise, would I be better off buying a 2 x 4GB kit instead (and replacing my 2 x 2GB ?)

Its basically a gaming PC btw

Cheers, will do that after work today :)

Easy then.

If you want to add 2 more sticks then this:

Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9) £31.99

But I recommend you sell your old RAM and just get this:

Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit £37.99 until 9am tomorrow morning.

Using 2 sticks won't mess with your overclock like using 4 sticks might.

FYI your 1600MHz RAM is running at ~1337MHz (669.7x2) but that's for another day.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Yes the Kingston HyperX 8GB kit is compatible.

If you want it buy now.

The offer price only holds until 9am (approx 8.5 hours time).

Thanks!! And Double thanks for a quick reply!

Have them ordered, 1st class delivery, just hope they're not the subject of a game of frisby between Overclockers and my front door (pennies are tight this week :p ).
