noob memory qestion

My shuttle can handle the following memory. am i correct in thinking the 8500 is the best? as lots of sites that scan the system recommend the 6400?

DDR2 PC2-6400,
DDR2 PC2-4200,
DDR2 PC2-5300,
DDR2 PC2-8500
with a maximum of 2GB per slot.*

Depends on what your CPU is, and if you're overclocking.

Chances are some cheapo 5300 will offer you exactly the same performance as some expensive 8500 ram.

ok thanks, prob gonna try a small overclock, ordering the AMD duel core 5000 chip. if that was the case what memory would you go for?

Just get some standard 6400 stuff, 8500 would be pointless.
