noob memory question

well run in to a problem trying to set them up

i cant set them to higher than the stock 1066 mhz (or whatever it is round there :) )

the cpu is phenom 2 965X4

i know it supports 1333 mhz so would think it would be able to set to that but if i try it halts at the 4 colour flag on boot up

any ideas on how to get it higher than stock set up ? im guessing i may need to update the bios

Later BIOS versions mention improved memory compatibility so it might be worth an update.

Looking at the manual you need to go to the Extreme Tweaker Menu in the BIOS.

Go to "DRAM Frequency" and see what options you're given based on your CPU Bus Frequency. Set it to the highest you can up tp 1600MHz. If that causes problems then back down to the next lowest speed.

Set the "DRAM Voltage" to 1.5V. You can always bump this up a touch if you have stability problems.

Under "DRAM Timing Configuration" enter the settings manually:

DRAM CAS# Latency 9
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay 9
DRAM RAS# PRE Time 9
DRAM RAS# ACT Time 24
DRAM Command Rate 2T

Give it a go and report back.

looks like the T2 setting is the charm :)
will see how it goes and get back thank you
