OK what I'm trying to do is put an entry in our dns server to make xxx.yyy.com resolve as 123.123.123.123 on our network. I could go round every computer on our network and put an entry in the hosts file but obviously that is a stupid idea.
So what I'm trying to do is put it in the DNS server on our Windows 2003 server. I go into our domain in the Forward Lookup Zones section of dnsmgmt and add a New Host (A) where all our other hosts are... But when I type the address in the Name section it adds our domain onto the end of it in the FQDN section.
Is there something different I need to do here?
Cheers!
