Ok so I have a 5770 vapor x, and bought another card it turned up and realised it was a 5770 vapor x OC edition

Now its working in Crossfire fine, But I have the OC edition as primary. Now it runs hotter than my normal version and looking around at the specs they seem the same

Core Clock: 860 MHz
Memory Clock: 1200 MHz

Anyone had any experience with these as if one is Overclocked to the same speeds as my stock one, would I be better switching them around?

Cheers

I run the XFX HD5770 Single Slot and have got it at 960/1450 stable with no need to up the volts.

The reason your main card (I presume is the top card) is hotter is because the cards are very close together. The bottom card has it's fan free of any obstruction so can get air freely, but the top card isn't.

The top card is very close to the bottom card with a slight/small gap where air cannot really get to the fan, so it can be pushed into the card to keep the core cool. Plus, as the top card is so close to the bottom card, it picks up a lot of hot air coming off the bottom card, so basically it is pushing hotter air into the card than what it usually would.

There is the reason for the main card running hotter xD

Bit lengthy, but hope it helps xD
