Ive just left the darkside (amd) after 5 years and built myself this setup:
Gigabyte 965p-ds3 rev.2
Intel core 2 duo E6300
2gb Geil ddr2 ULL pc6400
Artic freezer Pro
X1800xt
all this is powered by a Antec neopower 450w power supply thats been taken from my old build.
ive been running vista home premium for the past week with no problems ( except a memory error in bf2142, but we all know how stable EA Games are to run).
Everything is run at stock, literally installed , switched on and running windows .
ive read various guides on here and around the net but im very unsure on how to setup a mild / moderate overclock..must guides seem to want you to try and run as fast as you can, however becouse i dont want to damage my system as i dont have a bottomless money pit, im looking for someone / everyone to help guide me through it slowly.
i know my way around a bios , but dont know the first thing about safely overclocking so any help must be treated as im a total noob with full laid out explanations on what to do.
im willing to use messenger/teamspeak/ventrilo as well as this forum , in fact if anyone with the knowledge in my local area wants to show me how to do it right, id come and pick them up in the moter.
....is there anyone out there up for the challenge ?
