hi all

I want to buy my kid brother a new gaming PC as he aced all of his exams and got into his university of choice I have a budget of about £1000 but know squat about pc's especially gaming pc's

if it help a few games I have seen him regularly play

Steel beasts pro-pe
DCS A10 c warthog
battlefield 3 (4 when it comes out apparently)
star wars online (knight of the republic I think it called)
ghost recon
medal of honour
sim city
world of tanks
arma 2
arma 3 (but is complaining that his pc is struggling)

any help of pc's that will run these games and then some will be much appreciated

sorry he has 3 monitors (don't know why) key board and mouse head set.
As for operating system (if that means windows) he is running vista I think still
well that what is on my laptop and it look the same.

also he as motioned in the past a thrust master control stick for A10c

I could have asked him but I want it to be a supprise

Are they planning on living in halls in the first year? A full blown gaming PC has no place in student halls.

If he wants to game during his first year let him, I certainly did quite a bit during down time, especially when the money ran too short to drink every night :rolleyes:
 
I'd have a slight variation on the first system above

1. Remove the second hard drive as it is easily added later/he will already have some HD's in his current rig that he can use.
2. Change the GPU to "HIS HD 7950 IceQ BOOST 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (H795QC3G2M)"

That way he will have a better GPU which works well ARMA 3 or so I'm led to belive
