Noob question about amps/receivers - Anyone with one should be able to help!?

If I get an amp such as say the Yamaha V461 5.1 Receiver, can you control the speaker levels per input/mode?

For example, if I turn the sub level up for movies, but do not want it so high when playing music (either from the DVD player or a separate CD player), can you do this?

Do these receivers allow the levels to be set per input or per mode?

Obviously I wouldn't want to have to turn levels up and down constantly. I want the unit to remember appropriately?

thats what i need on my yamaha. im waiting to upgrade mine. its getting on for 6 years old now, still going strong though
