Noob question about desktop themes

OK, just downloaded a ChaNinja Style (SubZero) theme, well, lots of icons.

But how do i get to change icons liek Mycomputer ect. When i use the theme changer option and point it at the chaninja.iptheme it can see it, so i change it to chaninja.theme, now it se's it but says bits are missing..

Am i doing something really noobish here... is there another program i need to get themes or is it something simple like it s avista theme and will not work with XP?

There is a reason Microsoft locked this out in the first place. Some themes have compatibility problems with applications. Best of NOT using themes unless you are looking for trouble.

styles are ok to use imo, but when you start replacing icons and messing with dll's, it usually starts coming tumbling down after a few ms updates or SP etc

Just wanted to change my dektop icons to be honest, things like 'my computer' ect. cant seem to find a way of changing the icons in XP.

O well, will leave it alone until i get bored again

For changing the desktop icon for my computer isn't it just ...

right-click on desktop -> Properties -> Desktop tab -> Customise Desktop button -> highlight item to change -> Change icon

Then select a new icon from a file of a suitable type. Least that looks like the method to me on this XP box ....

LOL.... somedays i need to get out of bed the other side... i was for some reason, trying to right click the icon and not the desk top - cheers mate...
