i recently had a gaming pc built and will be with me in a few days...it is most likely a terrible spec compared to you guys here but i need to start somewhere..my question is i am wanting to upgrade the graphics card almost immediately can i install almost any card or is it dependent on processor/motherboard etc the spec i have is i7 2600 processor 16gb memory 1TB h/drive and Geforce GTX 1650 4gb thanks for any hel, much appreciated

You can install any GPU it doesn't matter what motherboard or CPU you have, the 1650 4gb is a nice starting GPU tbh

What resolution will you be gaming at?

I would say, get to know your PC first. Use it, play some games on it before diving in and changing things.

That was my initial intention but someone said i might not be able to play particular games due to the card i have but i will probably wait anyway and see whats what like you say

If the builders still have your pc I would ask them for a 1650 super instead of a regular 1650, shouldn't be much of a price difference and is a fair bit faster.

I'd also want a ssd for the boot drive.

At 1080p there won't be any games you can't play, you'll just have to lower settings to medium or so on very demanding games.

Hang on a minute here? Are you sure about that? i7 is the (second?) generation "core" series which is around 10 years old now.

In which case, you need to be careful saying this, because the motherboards that were around then are not all compatible with PCIE 3.0+

Are you sure it's an i7 2600 or is it an AMD Ryzen 2600?

I find it hard to believe that a 'being built' (insinuating new) PC would have a near decade old processor.
