Noob question about overvolting...

Hi all,

In trying to decide which graphics card to buy, i've noticed that some models list the ability to increase the gpu voltage as a "feature". Does this mean that the voltage of other cards is likely locked? Or just that the tuning software shipped with other cards doesn't have that function built in?

I'm asking this in relation to the GTX 560 ti, in case it varies from model to model.

Many thanks!

You can just use software like MSI Afterburner, Trixx or SmartDoctor(ASUS only). Some companies allow you to have a bit of voltage play. Some also may give you software to do this yourself but I'm not sure about that.

All that aside, you'll be able to apply voltage if you feel the need to do so.
