Hey all

Just purchased everything I need for a new rig which includes a Gigabit S=series board and a dual core processor.

Will I need arctic silver when putting the cpu in?

Last time I did but I'm really not clued up on this sort of thing lol.

Thanks all

There's a thermal pad on the stock cooler, and on most 3rd party ones (others come with their own compound).
Depends what you're doing really. Running the stock cooler at stock speeds, the heat pad they supply will be fine. Though AS5 would obviously show some improvement.

What heatsink are you using?

The stock heatsink comes with its own compound. Some 3rd party heatsinks come with their own, but AS5 is almost always better.:)

edit: you beat me with an identical reply:p

well I'm going to be using a Gigabit GA-P35-DS3 Mobo with an E220 dual-core CPU and atm I only have the standard heatsink that comes with the cpu lol.

If i just use the standard heatsing at the moment can i still add AS5 in the future if i choose to purchase a better heatsink? As I may well overclock in the future.

Cheers guys

Your going to insert a new CPU using ASilver in your new RING, OUCH, bet it doesn't work very well. Fart power for the PSU I presume :D
