Hello all

Sorry for the noobness here. I have my old HTC One x Plus which is O2 branded and network locked.

I want to give the phone to the missus, she is on EE. What's the easiest way to network unlock it? Are these online sites where you send the imei any good?

Also as far as debranding to put a standard HTC OS on there, is it easy enough?

Thanks in advance

Put your o2 simply card in the phone and call O2 as long as you were thr contract owner they will do it for free.

Yeah O2 will do this for you. As for branding, I wouldn't bother tbh. While possible (XDA has a toolkit for the phone, that can get you started) I'd just uninstall everything O2 related and go for it. If she really cares, maybe switch to Nova/Apex and hide everything you don't want to see. I can't remember if it has customised loading screens but even if it does, it's only when you boot the phone, no big deal overly.
