If I get a DVI KVM switch and therefore have all DVI leads, can I just get an adapter to convert the DVI lead to VGA and plug it into a PC?

So as far as the KVM switch (& monitor) is concerned, it's connected to two DVI sources? But in reality, one source IS DVI, but the other is VGA?

Hope that's clear!

It should work as long as the cable is not a DVI-D cable as that only allows a digital signal through it. There are two other DVI cables, DVI-A (analog only) and DVI-I (digital & analog) so with the last two it should work fine :)

Excellent so it appear then if I get a DVI KVM switch (not a VGA one) I can then plug it into my first PC via DVI, and my second PC via VGA... And obviously plug the KVM switch output into the DVI of my monitor...
