Noob Question : Does winxp software work on winxp media centre ?

sorry for the question, i know it SEEMS obvious, but a friend is looking for a laptop and all their software is winxp, most laptops have winxp media centre on them just want to confirm that stuff like photoshop etc will run okay on it as i dont want to supply them with duff information.

I would say all software that say it runs on XP would work on media center , unless otherwise stated

Its still Windows XP so the base kernel will be the same. XP MCE just has one or two extra features that give it its media abilities.

As has been said, MCE is XP with a fancy front end.

MCE IS XP Pro but with an additional built-in app called 'Media Center'.

MCE is just a program that you can run when you're in windows (its in the start menu)

Somehow it's integrated in the OS with remote control support.
