thanks all, I got a 6 to 8 cable , working fine now .
Big wayne in aswer to your question , I had a wholessale upgrade
went from one of the first dual cores on a budget asus board , with an 8800GT
i7 920 D0
Gigabyte GA-EX58-Extreme
XFX ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 2GB
Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C7
Dell UltraSharp 2209WA 22"
im running windows 7 64bit , and I am loving it , Im looking to overclock the I7 chip , but sadly i have a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme from my old set up but the brackets wont fit my new board , was really hoping to use it , and come back here for advice on the overclock .
Not sure if you can get just the new bracket etc , but i dont think so .
Anyway I guess theres still some room for stock cooler over clocking i guess.
I see Gigabyte have actually published a pdf on how to do it !
