How would you go about using and setting up your pc to either a Samsung series 9 4k tv with High Dynamic range, or a LG oled 4k 3d tv? Would you still be using hdmi or display port or something else? All of this talk about display port and refresh rates has got me confused, and most of the issues people appear to be experiencing is getting their tvs to output at 60hz with full chroma.

HDMI 2 or display port for 4k 60Hz

but
AMD cards don't have HDMI 2
most 4k TV's don't have display port

club (I think that's their name) have released an active display port->HDMI 2 adapter
but
why has no other manufacturers released one given that they have been talking about them for at least 6 months, technical problems me thinks.

EDIT just looked at 9 series spec, disappointing no display port, and you may need 'Future Ready with a One Connect Box' as it doesn't appear to support all the needed codecs for 4k.

I don't know what the situation is regarding the LG Oled either? Might just leave it until the tech settles down

Yeah I was amazed by the colour and definition produced by the Ed Sheeran demo on the LG. I'm one of the few people who will watch a 3d Blu Ray every now and then and I can see the vibrancy and detail that OLED produces, having significant benefit in that regard. However, I would never pay thirty quid for a Blu Ray as I'll buy second hand. I did make the mistake of confusing 4k for OLED which leads to my next question. Does OLED alleviate any need for 4k (for gaming) or is it likely there will be a need for the technology to develop in parallel? I'm one of many who use their TV as a monitor.
